Our Somerset Series gets a facelift! Same delicious wine—fun new package!
"Banana belt" is an informal geographic term used to describe a segment of a larger geographic region which enjoys warmer weather conditions than the region as a whole, especially in the wintertime.
Our vineyards are located in a region that locals refer to as the “Banana Belt” of grape growing in the Finger Lakes. While our weather isn’t exactly tropical (and we don’t grow bananas!), it is consistently warmer in the southeastern slopes of Seneca Lake than anywhere else in the region. The label takes inspiration from old stenciled fruit crates, stamped for their destination, and introduces the silhouette of an unlikely visitor to the vineyards of New York.
Co-designed by Ithaca based designer, Brian Dudla, and our own Katie Marks, the three-wine-series package is topped off with a fun custom designed capsule that captures all the crazy goodness of the wines inside. Featuring the same blends as the Somerset Series, the new packaging enthusiastically fits the liveliness of the wines and where they were grown and made.
