| A longtime crowd pleaser, our Estate Red features a blend of hybrid and vinifera grapes, creating a wine that is the prefect, everyday "table red" Marechal Foch (58%) is a small-cluster grape that produces somewhat soft, yet deeply colored wines described as having a "Burgundian" character. Thin-skinned with more delicate tannins, Marechal Foch emulates fruit flavors of black cherries and plums and blends beautifully with the more complex and intense Cabernet Franc (22%) and Merlot (20%).
An estate wine can only be labeled as such if the winery has total control and influence over the entire production from growth of the grape to bottling of the finished product. Atwater's Estate Wine series was created to showcase our winemakers' unique talents of blending different varieties of grapes. Most blending occurs after fermentation, and is equivalent to an artist's rendering of color on a canvas. |
