| Brought up from our cellar library, we are releasing a very limited quantity of this sold out 2002 Merlot. This vintage displays ripe black cherry, plum, and definite notes of chocolate or cocoa. Well worth the wait, the past five years have been good to this wine making it soft and supple.
Merlot is relatively new to the Finger Lakes. This tender variety is only grown in the choicest sites thoughout this region. Thriving best in clay-based, cool soils that retain moisture well and allow the grapes to reach full size, these grapes were grown by Jim Hazlitt owner of Sawmill Creek Vineyards in Hector (three miles north of Atwater).
